It is considered as life long fatal autoimmune disease. It is like rheumatoid arthritis that affects joints, muscles and other parts of the body. It is a complex disorder that occurs due to various independent factors and processes. Viruses, ultraviolet rays, inherited genes and drugs are believed to be some causes of systemic lupus erythematosus. Recent research claims that the failure of the key enzymes to dispose of dying cells is also responsible for the progress of the disease.
